Causes Of Global Warming

The causes of global warming are primarily coming from humans. There are many reasons global warming is occurring at the high speed of rates it is. These reasons include carbon dioxide emissions into the air from cars, airplanes, electrical plants, and more. Global warming is also occurring due to the rapid loss of the rain forests that play an integral part in keeping the earth cool.

Global warming is a natural occurrence the earth goes through. The earth’s temperatures used to increase less than a tenth of a degree every 20 years. Today, temperatures are increasing at rates that are out of control.

The earth’s temperature increases from things like carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane trapping heat in the atmosphere. These things are known as greenhouse gases. The problem is that as the earth’s temperatures increase things die. This is because of warming water temperatures in the ocean and ice bergs melting. There are many animals dependent upon these cold conditions and as they deplete then there is less land mass for them to live and they die. These animals are unable to adapt to the changing conditions of the weather.

Humans are causing the natural occurrence of the earth’s trend in temperature increase to happen quicker than it should. The speeds are dramatic. Carbon dioxide being emitted into the air is the biggest problem. This is caused by cars burning fuel. Some vehicles emit fewer carbons into the air than others. Vehicles that emit the most pollution include larger sport utility vehicles that burn more gas than others. The vehicles that get the best gas mileage are the best for the atmosphere. However, stop and go traffic is bad for emitting fumes into the air, starting your car in the morning and letting it run for 20 minutes before you get in it, and more. 
 
Airplanes are responsible for emitting a large percentage of the carbon dioxide into the air also. There isn’t much that airlines can do to eliminate the problems caused except to minimize the amount of flights every day around the world. This will cause airlines to shut down and lose money. The government can control this problem by raising gasoline prices and airfare costs. This will cause people to travel less which will be good for the atmosphere.

Almost 50% of carbon dioxide emissions into the air is caused from electrical power plants. These power plants burn coal to generate electricity for cities. Burning coal generates large amounts of carbon into the atmosphere. The problem with electricity is that it is only getting worse as people are not looking for alternative methods of electricity for their homes.

The rain forests are a big factor of global warming also. Many people might think it is a silly theory but they are wrong. This is because plants are responsible for absorbing in carbon dioxide that is in the air. In return, they release oxygen into the air for us to breathe. There are serious hack and burn methods taking place in the rain forests across the world that is depleting the oxygen levels of the earth. Millions of acres of rain forests are being chopped down each year.

The problem is that the oxygen levels are depleting but there is less trees to absorb the carbon dioxide in the air. This excess carbon dioxide that has no place to be absorbed is becoming trapped in the air causing the temperatures in the earth to rise.
 
The rain forests are not the only place that forests are depleting. There are major forests being cut down for logging purposes of building homes and other production needs. However, the warming of the earth can also contribute to forest fires occurring too, which is another loss of needed trees to absorb the carbon dioxide in the air.

The earth is going to warm. Humans need to stop the fast rates they are causing the temperatures to raise. There are things that people can do to play their part in slowing down the warming process. The things people can do include ride a bike to work, carpool, take the bus, work from home, and more.

People can find alternative methods of electricity like natural gas or solar powered methods. These two methods would result in helping the earth and cut down an electrical bill significantly. People in the rain forest regions of the world need to be educated on the disastrous effect they are having on the earth. In addition to causing global warming, species that rely on the rain forest as a home are becoming extinct. The hack and burn methods need to come to an end.

Global warming is a natural occurrence of the earth but we are speeding up the process at unacceptable rates. We need to play our part in educating people about things they can do to slow down the process.
